Hands-on craftsmanship for the projects other contractors pass on — from full custom builds to the trickiest millwork.
From ground-up custom homes to the renovation nobody else wants to touch — if it's worth doing right, it's worth calling us.
Ground-up homes designed and built around how you actually live.
Kitchens, baths, and additions that feel like they were always part of the house.
Hand-fit cabinetry, shelving, and trim built on site to fit your space exactly.
The tricky, unusual jobs other contractors won't take on — we will.
The exterior sets the tone before you're through the door: clean-lined modern siding, a folded wood roofline, and a covered porch built for sitting outside as much as in.
This whole-home renovation paired custom walnut millwork with a soaring, wood-clad vaulted ceiling — the kind of project most contractors pass on. From the kitchen's hand-fit cabinetry to the open great room beyond, every detail was built on site, to fit this house and no other.
The same care shows up in the rooms you don't expect — a primary suite with its own quiet mood, a slate-tiled shower built floor to ceiling, and guest baths finished with the same attention as the kitchen up front.
Custom walnut cabinetry, open shelving, and a matching range hood, built and fitted on site.
Vaulted tongue-and-groove ceiling opened the great room up without losing its warmth.
Stained concrete floors and a covered porch tie indoor and outdoor living together.
I love this company's work. They always do what they say they're going to do. Believe me, I've dealt with contractors that tell you one thing and you have to struggle to get them to do it. Turtle Hill is the best company I've dealt with since starting to build this house. I would recommend them to anyone with a project to do.

Wonderful job. All done with quality and care. Decking, painting, redoing our block sidewalk have been done to the best work possible. Thank you.
Professional, courteous, easy to work with.
A screened porch and stairway in Strasburg, Virginia — left unfinished by a previous contractor. We picked it up, saw it through, and got it right.
Same porch, same angle — from bare framing to a finished, screened outdoor room.
This arched storm door was hand-built from scratch to match the home's original front door — down to the curve of the frame. Not every job is a full renovation, and that's fine by us.
During a kitchen remodel, a client couldn't bear to part with a countertop a family member had built by hand. So instead of tossing it, we turned it into a side table and a floating shelf — something they could keep using every day.
I spent years building in the commercial world — hospitals, schools, the kind of projects where you're one name in a long chain of subcontractors. Over time, I realized that world didn't leave much room for what I could actually bring to a project. So when I moved into home construction, it wasn't just a change in the kind of buildings I worked on — it was a change in how I got to work. Suddenly I was dealing directly with the person who'd actually live in the space, and that relationship is what I'd been missing.
That's also where the way I think about my job comes from. I've always felt more like an artist than a builder — I love an odd space, a tricky angle, a material nobody else would reach for, because that's where the real problem-solving happens. And since I'm building for the person standing in front of me instead of a spec sheet, I want them part of every decision along the way. Nothing beats watching someone walk into a space and genuinely love being in it — that's the whole point.
Before I ever picked up a tool for a living, I served in the military — and that experience shaped who I am today, especially the standards I hold myself to on every job site. I've been building since 2012, and that discipline has stayed with me through every project since.
The project that best captures what I'm after is a tiny house — under 300 square feet, which meant every single inch had to be planned, with nothing wasted. The homeowner was a mother with an incredible spirit; she was fighting cancer through the entire build, and she still brought so many ideas to the table that we wove into the final design. That project is what showed me what I could actually give to a family, and it's stayed with me on every job since.
Some jobs are straightforward. Others need someone who won't walk away when things get complicated — an odd angle, a tricky retrofit, a piece of custom millwork nobody else wants to figure out.
That's where we do our best work. Hands-on, on site, from the first cut to the final coat.
